Captains Log
01:17
|
|||
Sell me all your faith I could use something to believe
the drugs just didn’t take will you let me inside of your machine?
we could chug along the open sea
you could be the captain and I could scribe your memory
Or I could borrow your baton
And I would lead this parade
and you could follow the notes along
up and down my staff as we spin in figure eights

Holy Land U.S.A
02:23
|
|||
I tried to leave the city burning down
But I never thought you’d still be around
I'm sorry but I cannot stay
Its been so long now to hesitate
my bags are packed with my lips shut tight
I never could say what was wrong or right
but nothing should bleed from the start
so I'm keeping this so far from the heart
But if we rebuild they’ll all know our names
they would paint us in the sky with airplanes
but what’s high up in the sky keeps on falling down
faster and faster to the ground
so come all ye faithful
come stand and rest those knees
and keep your head up
keep your head up around me
cause I've been sinning just like everyone
only love the barrel of my own gun
but I could never shoot to kill
I just run, run, run
but if we rebuild they’ll all know our names
they would paint us in the sky with aeroplanes
but whats high up in the sky keeps on falling down
faster and faster to the ground

Ant Hill
03:09
|
|||
Its seems that I have lost myself
in this anthill on a shelf
and I've been digging holes with my teeth
so I climbed up to the top
just so I could see the drop
down to the crowded streets
and I'm sure the people are nice down there
but they don’t bother coming up for air
unless there’s a chance of rain
so I wouldn’t let myself break down
for an otherwise unwilling crowd
I will just stay up here for days
cause this is the deepest hole I've dug
to try and bury what I have loved
but I still cant hide it away
so I'll just keep on tunneling
until I say the right things
no matter how deep I dig my grave
and iv tried bottled therapy
sleeping beauties lying next to me
but I wake up and its all the same
I've already flushed my money down
and she didn’t even wait around
long enough for me to complain
so I decided I would move around
to all of the countries I had found
where nobody would place a blame
but they’re all just to busy with
their own wars and their politics
and everywhere I went it still rained
cause this is the deepest hole I’ve dug
to try and bury what I have loved
but I still cant hide it away
so I'll just keep on tunneling
until I say the right things
no matter how deep I dig my grave

Airplane
02:17
|
|||
I woke up in an alley underage
I saw how lonely zombies past their days
and I swore id put all of this away
but I guess sometimes things change
and I saw robots learning to calculate
half the time in newspapers half with word games
and they dress up like people in their suits
they go through therapy in their parachutes
So darling you shouldn’t be afraid to die
Cause you’d still be beautiful falling through the sky
now Id be there to catch you, I cant promise but I can try
its up to you its your life
All of us are terminal we are all the same
and as I wait here for my airplane
this hour could go on for days
when some of us cant wait to leave but most just wanna stay
So darling you shouldn’t be afraid to die
Cause you’d still be beautiful falling through the sky
now Id be there to catch you, I cant promise but I can try
its up to you its your life

Settle Up The Score
02:14
|
|||
If were all made to break then I refuse to mistake
anyone around this place to be ahead of the race
cause once your all bruised and torn just trying to settle up the score
you'll find yourself so helpless someday
you thought you know by now
where all of these roads would come out
but geography could be a tricky game
when everywhere you go looks just the same
you may never find your way
there’s always countries that you cant name
when your stuck on those unchecked days
on the calendar that hangs
up on the walls your trapped in again
with your patience growing so thing
but healing takes some time my friend
you thought you know by now
where all of these roads would come out
but geography could be a tricky game
when everywhere you go looks just the same

On A Stretcher
02:49
|
|||
I know I could go down for this
my words are just like sinking ships
no matter how hard I fought
there’s always holes that I forgot
seems like we’ve been going coast to coast
just digging up things from so long ago
but once we hit rich someday
all this shit could just float away
see I've living life in a story book
just leaving all the facts here overlooked
and my sights were set without debate
cause you left me no room to calibrate
so I gathered an army to fight my wars
while I was still leading all of yours
then I was on a stretcher with nothing to stay
and that’s when I knew I got carried away
We refuse to die where we were born
way to close for reform
but these big city dreams never get us where we planned
when we forget how to love right where we stand
So the orders have changed I will set down my guns
Cause I have nothing left to prove to anyone
I will tear down these walls and these barricades
I'll raise up my flag I'm ready to show you my face
But I still refused to watch you kneel
and follow the words you believed to heal
without and proof or evidence
from anything of relevance
and I lost all my room for tolerance
but you preached it still with such diligence
that we forgot the bombs flying overhead
like everyone we just remember what our savior said
We refuse to die where we were born
way to close for reform
but these big city dreams never get us where we planned
when we forget how to love right where we stand
